Who is responsible for the app

GoalLane is developed and published by Vladislav Morgun (“the developer”). Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].

Short version

The current version of GoalLane:

• does not require an account;
• does not include advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs;
• does not send your goals, plans or usage activity to a server operated by the developer;
• stores app data locally on your iPhone unless you choose private iCloud synchronization;
• when iCloud is enabled and available, synchronizes supported data through the private CloudKit database tied to your Apple Account;
• creates a JSON export only when you request it and lets you choose where to save or share the copy.

On this basis, the developer does not collect data from the current version of the app as Apple defines collection for App Privacy disclosures.

Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use GoalLane, app data can include:

• goal titles, work or life category, finish dates, notes and definitions of done;
• planned steps, their dates, time estimates, completion state and related notes;
• active, completed and archived status, progress and other information required to show your plan;
• daily capacity, briefing time, appearance, language, storage, app-lock and other preferences.

This information is stored locally on the iPhone. If you enable iCloud, supported app data also synchronizes through the private CloudKit database belonging to your Apple Account. Other supported devices signed in to that Apple Account may receive the synchronized data. The developer does not operate this database and cannot read your private CloudKit records.

Device permissions and Apple services

GoalLane asks for a permission only when the related feature needs it:

• Notifications: to schedule the optional Daily Briefing locally. A briefing may contain the names of upcoming goals or steps and can therefore appear on the Lock Screen if your iOS notification-preview settings allow it.
• Speech recognition and microphone: when you choose voice-to-text input. Recognition is configured to stay on the device on supported systems; GoalLane does not keep the dictation audio or send it to a developer server.
• Face ID, Touch ID or device passcode: to unlock GoalLane when App Lock is enabled. Authentication is handled by iOS; the app does not receive or store biometric data.
• iCloud and CloudKit: to synchronize supported data when you explicitly choose iCloud storage.

Apple processes CloudKit synchronization, device backups, notifications, authentication, downloads and related platform activity under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. The developer does not control those Apple services or receive access to your private CloudKit records.

Storage choice and iCloud

You can use GoalLane only on this iPhone or enable private iCloud synchronization. With iPhone-only storage, removing the app also removes its local data from that device unless you saved a separate JSON backup.

Turning iCloud off copies the current available snapshot into local storage; it does not delete the copy already held in your private iCloud database. Changes made while iCloud is off remain only on that iPhone until synchronization is enabled again. iCloud synchronization is not a substitute for a separate backup.

Exports, imports and sharing

You can create a JSON backup containing GoalLane data. An export is created only after you request it and is sent to a location or app you choose through the iOS share interface. The app does not automatically upload exports.

When you import a supported GoalLane backup, the app validates the file and shows a preview before writing. Imported data is merged by its identifiers and update dates; invalid or conflicting records may be rejected or left unchanged. Copies saved in Files, email, cloud drives or other apps are governed by the destination you selected.

Retention and deletion

Goals and steps remain until you delete them. Completed or archived items remain in the app because you chose to keep that history. When iCloud is enabled, supported edits and deletions synchronize to your other devices.

Removing GoalLane deletes local-only data from that iPhone. Synchronized data may remain in your private iCloud database and can return after reinstallation. Exported copies remain wherever you saved them and must be deleted there separately. Because the developer does not receive your GoalLane data and the app has no developer account, the developer cannot retrieve or delete a copy on your behalf.

Your choices

You can:

• keep data only on this iPhone or use private iCloud synchronization;
• turn Daily Briefing and App Lock on or off inside the app;
• deny or revoke notification, microphone and speech-recognition permissions in iOS Settings;
• delete goals and steps in the app;
• export a JSON backup before switching devices or deleting the app.

Some features will not work when their required permission or Apple service is unavailable.

Children’s privacy

GoalLane is a general-audience productivity app and is not specifically directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal data through the current version of the app.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if features or data practices in GoalLane change. The updated version and effective date will be published on this page. Any future version that introduces analytics, a developer-operated account or server, or another materially different data flow will require an updated policy and App Store privacy disclosure before release.
